It is FRIDAY!!

I am so happy today is here! This morning I finished my math test, which I was really nervous about and thought I was going to do horrible! But afterwards I think I did okay even though every time I say that I do bad :( always works out that way. Then I had to go meet this random guy at the tiger den to get my brothers phone ( brock family has a habit of losing there phones :)) So now I am here writing my last blog! yay! Then I think I am going to take a nap, like I usually do almost every day, or go to a friends house to pass the time by, for Josh is coming home TONIGHT! Can not believe I get to say that after freaking three months! I am so happy today has come! The only thing is I have no idea when he will be here tonight. All I know it will be after I get out of a art gallery I have to go to... but that is in like seven hours! Not long! but today is def. going by really slow, that always happens too! I am so excited right now! It is going to feel so good finally huging him and kissing him again! And the best thing is tonight I have him al to my self! no one is going to bother us and we can talk about everything! Thank god. I wonder what he looks like? Is he going to look the same? Or different? All I know is he gained muscle and is tan, so he probably looks good. lol Well I guess that is it for my last blog. This actually helped me alittle with my writing, so I got something out of it! :)

earthquake

Well last night while I was sleeping, I suddenly woke up and felt like I was moving.. Then I realized it was an earthquake.. It kinda freaked me out because Memphis is on a plate that will move any day now, for it is due in this time period. It is suppose to be a huge on where it can do a lot of damage like the one in china about a decade ago where the streets were overlapping one another, buildings fell to pieces, and cracks wre in the ground. Hopefully it nevers happens because I do not want to be here when it does. So after I realized it was just a small one, I fell back to sleep but I can not believe I actually felt one. It is so weird becasue every thing around me was moving along with me. I always wondered what it felt like. There has been a few here before but never felt it but last night a lot of people realized what it was. So I am glad I am not imagining it or dreamed it happened. Even though none of my friends felt it neither did any of my family, who slept through the whole thing. So everyone thought I was just joking but it is on the news saying "did you feel it?" so whatever. It was big enough to wake me up and enough people in Memphis.

i hate this movie

For those who have not seen the movie "the mist" and do want to see it, I advise you not to but if you still want to do not read this blog for I might ruin it. Well I went and saw this movie at my friends house and it was okay, a little scary but I absolutely hated it!! The whole story of the movie sucks. People get stuck in a grocery store and can not go out side, for its fogging and they might get attacked or eaten by insects! How stupid. They were bigger than humans and spiders shot out acid. It was also gross because this one scene the spiders laid eggs in a human body and then it breaks apart while hundreds of baby spiders crawl out attacking everyone else! I really wanted to stop watching the movie but being me I had to finish to see what happens... Which I wished I didn't. The end of the movie pissed me off so bad I actually screamed at the TV! (now if you haven't seen it and still want to stop reading because I am about to give away the movie) A bunch of people get together and run outside to get into a car to see how far they can go to beat the fog. A few people die but 5 people get into the car safely. They drive for a long time and then of course they run out of gas. So the guy in the driver seat thinks the best thing to do is shoot everyone but there are only 4 bullets and 5 people. So being the so call bigger persons he shoots everyone including his little boy and girl friend. Then he gets pissed off and gets out of the car to die by the insects.... You hear noise, so you think he is about to die but no... instead it is the U.S military comes and is putting the mist out..... So if he freaking waited about 2 minutes they could of been saved! HOW GAY IS THAT! That movie def pissed me off!! oh and make things worst.. I started to go home and while I open the door I see that it is extremely foggy out and I can not see anything! Whats the odd in that!!!!

summer!

omg! I can not wait til summer! It's right around the corner! School is almost over, less than a week left. It is going to feel so good to get everything done with and have no stress on me! I hate being stressed, I feel like crap all the time and that I always forget something. Once I get all of my work done, I am free... until next semester but that is months away... I can't wait to sleep in almost every day, go swimming while getting a tan, going on road trips with friends, and pretty much staying up when ever I want and not have to worry about getting up i the morning. Also going to the lake and water ski or even to the beach, probably Florida like always. Also all of my good friends who are going to school out of state are coming back into town. Plus I will save so much money on gas! It def takes a lot just to go to school and back! That is def. good!
Another thing is shopping for summer clothes! They are def the cutest and it is finally getting warm outside! Wearing flip flops every day or no shoes, going outside with shorts on, it feels so good! I seriously can not wait. This summer is going to be so much fun! I just hope josh is not away the whole time, that would suck! Other than that this summer is going to be so much fun!

unexpected call

It was Sunday afternoon just got to work and was def already bored within an hour into the day. I was sitting there coloring, since no customers were in the store at the time, and suddenly I see my phone vibrate. Someone one was calling me from a 834 number and usually I don't answer numbers I don't know. So I looked it up real fast and it said the number was from Oregon! Well my best friend Jessi is going to school there and I got really excited, so I called back... thinking it was going to be her. Well it rang a few times and someone answered. I had no idea who it was but the voice did sound familiar. So I asked" Who the heck is this"... than unexpectedly on the other line the voice Say "baby it's me"... I just froze!! I was like what? It was Josh!!! I had no words and just stood there... He was like hello... Sarah? hello... It took me a while to come back but my first word was "hi".. Then I just started tearing up! I haven't talked to him in three months! I asked him how he was calling me and he said he borrowed a random lady's phone from the bank on the base... He was allowed to call people now! He also passed the 40 mile hike, which he said was the hardest thing he has ever done! So as of Sunday, he is a marine, yay! He also got pushed up to !st rank which is the BEST! woo hoo! I was so happy to hear his voice! Even though we only talked for about ten minutes, it was so good to hear from him. That one phone call def. made my day!

tonight!!

Well tonight I am actually going out, which I haven't in a long time. Just been hanging out at friends houses and nothing really big. But I am actually dressing up, with the whole cute outfit thing , make-up, and my hair down!! Very excited!! I think I need it. Every know and then everyone needs to go out with their friends and have fun. Get everything out of their head that's stressful or depressing. It serious helps! Anyways first I am going out to eat at On the Border with my friend Dustin, just to talk and hang out! He is one of my friends I can pretty much tell anything without him judging me and understands a lot. Then I a going to go home get ready, first time in a while! Then go pick up my friends and go to senses. My friend Jamie just turned 18, but it seems she's older because she got married at 17 but thats a different story. So a bunch of people are going to go with us and celebrate! Real excited! plus she lives in North Carolina, so I do not get to see her a lot! So hopefully it turns out a good night! Usually when you plan out a night something goes wrong but if you go with the flow and do whatever comes in your mind works out fine. Funny how things like that work!! Then after all or that.... They want to go to a strip club... not my favorite thing to do but it is her birthday and she wonders what it is like at one... so of course they pick the Pony! That'll be interesting.. oh and I have work at 9... so I wonder how that is going to work out! :) That's the down side...

Yay! one more week!

Well Josh was planning on coming home next saturday but his step mom called me last Sunday to let me know that he is leaving right after the graduation!! That means he will be at my house probably around 8 on Friday night! Yay! one day less! I was so excited to hear that! So just one more week! I can't wait! I really hope the days go by faster! #months is a long time and I thought it would not be that hard but yeah I was def wrong!! After the 1st mouth I hated it and wanted him to come home! It funny when someone is gone for so long and you can't talk to them at all, only write letters to one another... you realize how much that one person means to you!! Plus though the letters I felt like I could write anything! Throughout our realationship I had a hard time opening up and it drove him crazy! But that was always hard for me to do with anyone! But lately I have and now I feel like I can tell him anything! I know that sounds weird but it really did help.... even though when he writes back it is always about the marines and what cool thing he did that week like shoot a rifle ( which he said is his girlfriend right now... yeah he's weird too) So we never talk about the same thing! But hopefully whan he returns Friday I can still open up and talk about everything! It feels good to let everything out with one person! It's like I have nothing to hide and I love that feeling!

Shelby county!!

While watching the news the other day I came across this one story that will probably effect a lot of people in Shelby county!! It turns out that there will be 300 layoffs that will occur soon because Shelby county is running out of money!! So to fix it they have to layoff that many people!!! How ridiculous is that! I mean who are they going to lay off and hoe do they make that decision?? It could be my mom or dad or my friend!! anybody! That's a lot of people! Plus most of the people they are going to lay off have families they have top provide for and now they are going to be jobless! It is horrible! Shouldn't Shelby county mayor be good at keeping a good budget? What the heck do they spend it on? I am not positive but I think Shelby county is one of the worst county with money problems in Tennessee... That's really bad!! I think that the mayor needs to find another solution to fix the money problem then laying off people. It seems he is taking the easy way out or it could be that is the first thing they came up with and did not look at any other way. There has to be another way! there is enough homeless people in Shelby county and enough people going bankrupt! We don't need anymore! So hopefully they pick another solution that does not involve people losing their jobs!

Tigers!!!!

Man Monday night was extremely stressful!!! Before the game I was already a nervous wreck!! I had my tiger t-shirt on and I went to my friend Dustin's house with a bunch of friends to watch the game!! They made me dinner, which kinda calmed me down but right when 8:20 came I was glued to the TV. It was unbelievable how close the game was throughout the whole thing!! First Memphis was ahead, then it was Kansas, then back to Memphis and so on. It was the closet game I have ever watched so far!! Man.. I was so nervous I probably went the bath room about 10 times through out the game!! But when the last four minutes came, my heart was beating a thousand beats per minute!! Everyone in the house was laughing at me, for one I'm the only one there that went to Memphis so I was more into it and I kept leaving the room to go sit in the Kitchen to get away from it... I thought we had it!!! And I blame the revs because it seemed there wouldn't call any fouls...I was so mad but man when Kansas made that last basket with only a few seconds to spare, my mouth dropped!! I was shocked!!Then we went into over time and Kansas won... It was def a sad day for Memphis!! But hey second place is not bad plus tigers set a new record!!! 38 wins and only 2 loses!!! Not bad!! I'm still proud of them and so is the rest of the city of Memphis!!!

part 2

Stereotyping is also a problem. Like people assume someone is this way because of there skin color... for instance for a long time a lot of people's assumptions of me was that I was a snobby white girl, who lives on daddy's money and is a ditsy cheerleader. But that is not even close of being true!! I have a big family and so we are def. far from having money and I had to work to raise money for every year I cheered because my mom or dad can not help me. I also have to work for everything I have now.... so thinking white people are always rich and don't have to work for anything is def. wrong! I know a lot of friends that are white Also even though I grew up in white neighborhood, all my schools had a good diverse group of people. So I have friends of all kind of race! I'll be friends with anyone who is nice to me and is not rude. I don't care how anyone looks.. it doesn't matter to me and that is how it should be.. Why should it matter how people dress or skin color?? It just depends where they grow up and who they hang out with. So why is that a problem? One day I looked around in Hollidays and I thought something was really cute but my friend who was with me told me it look black... What does that suppose to mean?? Maybe because more black people shop at hollidays but she said it just looks black... but seriously what is actually dressing black or dressing white? Is it because more white people dress one way and black people dress another way??? I just think people dress the way they want and whatever they like and what ever fits there personality.

Can we talk about race?

Today during class we talked about this subject, "Can we talk about race?" It's a subject that every one can say something about it. Everyone has there own opinion upon it and there is so much to talk about... so where to start??? First of all I really do believe we can talk about it, but only if the time and place is right. Why can't we? This country is the most diverse country in the world, so we should be able to... Everyone is created equal! It doesn't matter if you are white, black , Asian, purple, or from mars.... God created everyone equally!!! So why is it such a problem? Like one paster said " The only reason why black and white people look differently is because white people stay away from the sun and black people get close to it" Which I thought was hilarious! If you cut one black and a white on the arm or where ever what color is each blood?.... both red!!! Yeah they look different but are the Same!!! So why can't we talk about it? Some say they are scared to bring it up some places for it might offend someone and might want to hurt them...the only reason we talked about it today because it was in class and everyone is pretty much comfortable talking about it. I can talk about race at my work, Holliday Fashions, because we are all close and we have a good diverse of people there... like white, black, mix, asian, and indian. So we talk about everything with no one getting mad and sometimes even joke about it. Why cant it be like that in United States.... Everyone be okay with it and it be okay talking about it no matter where you are... hopefully one day it will... it gets better as years go by. It use to be worst back in the 1950's then Martin Luther King Jr. came along... If it wasn't for him today would be a totally different . Schools would be separated and no one would get along. I wonder if he didn't get assassinated that the country could talk about it and everyone get along.

2 more weeks...

Well its been a long time since josh has left for boot camp but only two weeks left! The closer it gets, the faster the time goes. thank god!!! Each day it gets closer till he comes back, I get more and more excited. I do not think I have looked forward to a day so much than I do for josh's return!!! He finally is feeling better, not to long ago he had a upper respiratory infection and bronchitis and his knee is finally healed! So far he has completed ever hard task that is thrown at him and has one more big task to complete till graduation on April 18th. It is one if the hardest to complete. Next Friday he has to begin a forty mile hike in three days. It might not seem that hard but add about 120 pound pack on your back... Also they are only allowed about three hours of sleep a night!! Extremely hard!! I really hope he passes.. Its really nerve racking not knowing how he does until the day he graduates. He has to pass this to walk and if not means longer time in the terrible boot camp and longer time for me to see him :( Well bad news is I can not go to hie graduation in South Carolina... Because its during the last week of school and plus I don't have enough money for a plane ticket!! It really sucks because I want to be there when accomplish something this huge and he becomes a actual marine!! Plus its three days I have to wait til I see him!! But only two weeks, thats all I keep telling myself! It is not that far off and it will be here before I know it!

Friday Night

Last Friday night was unbelievable!! It started out a good night with a surprise party for one of my friends. It was just a regular party with everyone knowing everyone. It was fine. Then little bit of fights broke out for dumb reasons and because of probably being drunk but nothing bad. Around midnight I left to head home for I had work in the morning, which I'm glad I did. Not soon after I left more fights broke out and more people kept showing up that no one knew. It headed up someone one was calling for more friends to show up and wait till all of our friends to leave. Then with out of the blue the people who live there got jumped. It was def out numbered. For instance five against about twenty or more. It was really bad. The cops ended up coming, which they did nothing, and my friends who live there ended up going to the hospital. They don't know who did it but they def suck!!! They also took there little dog ,thats shaped like a hot dog, shoved it in the toilet and tried to drown it!! Who the hell does that!!! They even broke the toilet doing it!! The dog did nothing wrong!! I've never heard anybody doing that!! Also it was low of them waiting for everyone to leave and jump the ones who through the party!! I mean come on!!! But they are okay, every cut bandage, and they didn't get in any trouble which is good!! The dog is okay, a little shocking up from the close to death experience. Also no doors got busted like the last party, for those who know about the awesome Halloween party we had!! haha

Health care

Throughout the mouths i have been researching health care and finding every information I can find on the subject, I always thought it was the government and companies to blame for the problem. But I come to realize that the people aren't helping and are abusing it. One day last week I visited my mom at her work, Methodist North Hospital, and I decided to stay to observe what actually goes on and how many people actually has heath care. One thing I figure out is how many people are so rude in this city. The second my mom or another access facilitator ask them for profe of insurance they make a huge scene and use inappropriate words. They actually think they don't need insurance to be seen and some actually think it is free! I mean come on. Then people will get impatient because the wait is so long, but they should know that in the hospital you are seen by your health, which is worst are seen first. People come to the hospital for the stupidest reasons! For instance a headache, ear ache, a cold, and even a prick on someone's finger! It is retarded!! Most people who come through the hospital have either tenn care or Medicare insurance, which will pay for retarded coverage like a cold.... Others can fill out a form for a payment plan that can help you out with your bill. They can also fill out financial assistance form that someone can qualify for, which almost every one does, and will cut the bill in half. sometimes it'll pay for the whole thing but thats really rare, it depends on your income and household. But for that other little percentage of people that are rude and don't like to cooperate, won't give any information like insurance and living address. So with the law being no one can be turned away, the people will get seen and the hospital is left with the bill. It's ridiculous! If people stop abusing the system we have now, maybe the situation will be solved sooner!!!

My interesting day

Yesterday was probably one of the funnest day I have had in a while. It started out with my friends and I going to the Brooks museum of art. It was pretty fun looking at th art but I just hate it how cold it is in there. Well anyways before we started to leave one of my friends decide to walk into the members lounge and steal the cookies then ran. It was pretty funny and she gave each of us a piece, which I have to say one of the best cookies I have ever had! I don't even know what kind of cookie it was cause it was that good!!! Well then after the museum they gave me a tour of midtown because everything they talked a bout I had no idea what it was, but know I do. Then we went to taco bell and they took me to this really nice park. I think it was chickasaw park maybe but it was really nice!! Trees all around, a beautiful lake calm like nothing touched it, and there were ducks everywhere, which had the prettiest color feathers. Well instead of feeding the ducks bread like normal people would do, my friends decided to feed them a taco they didn't eat.... man that was a site to see! The ducks loved it and fought over it... it was hilarious but one duck waqs seriously trying to kill the other, so I tried to do something and I started hitting them with a small stick to break them up. Didn't work very well but I tried. Also, I'll have to say I don't think it was very good for them anyways. Then we climbed this big tree and sat there just talking about everything that I thought of. It was just relaxing and it was so much fun! I know some things we did doesn't seem like fun but it was. Maybe because it was random and we did what ever came up in our heads next. So next time we get together we'll do whatever again!

River City writers

As I was walking up to this beautiful mansion, thinking I have never seen a house so beautiful. Everything in this house was carefully designed and well built. It was so nice I was terrified to touch anything! Well finally the reading began and christiana kenneally was the first up. The part she read from her book was rather interesting taking about language and how it evolved. One of her example was dolphins making different noises for different reasons. Also with monkeys and how they make different noises for different predictors. They react differently to each noise. The next reader was Josh Pregar with his book a bout the remember able baseball game that was first broad casted all over the world. How Bobby Thompson was a hero for that one game and people looked up to him. But to find out years down the road the truth finally comes out. They cheated by watching the other teams, which is def. frowned upon. I wonder how the people feel who remember that game found out the truth. I know my grandpa remembers it and he is a big baseball fan. I wonder how he feels about that? Well the last reader Stacey Sullivan read from her book and it was so interested how much she knew about the kosovo war and how that guy sent weapons and supplies over seas helping them. I didn't think you could do that without getting in trouble. Also, I loved that she shared her opinion about the lawsuit against her and how she was okay talking about it to everyone. Thinking it's ridiculous and it seemed like it didn't really phase her, which I thought was hilarious.

cherry picking

When someone hears words cherry picking, one might think that it is just going to a field picking the fruit but in this case it's a phrase used quit often. Cherry picking is used metaphorically to indicate the act of pointing at individual cases or data that seem to confirm a particular position, while ignoring a significant portion of related cases or data that may contradict that position. For an example, health insurances cheery pikes the most profitable customers. The ones who are healthy compared to the ones and refuse to insure those who are unhealthy or unlikely to become healthy. Also, Auto insurances cherry pick as well. They chose to insure those who are better drivers and less risk of a wreck compared to those who have a record of bad driving. Cherry picking is also used by lawyers to support their cases. Even though the truth might be twisted, it's not lying. They only pick out the evidence that is toward their case, which is done a lot. For instance, smoker commercials chose to show the positive reason to smoke or what would attract more people to smoke. Even though it's bad for everyone and can cause multiple illnesses and cancers; but smoker company's won't show that. So cheery picking is used quit often in many different w

can not believe this happened!!

Well this story did not really happen to me but it happened to my brother and his girlfriend. This def. does not happen every day, well maybe in Memphis.
It all started around six o'clock when I was on the coach taking a nap and usually when people call me I do not answer the phone during nap time. I finally woke up and watched TV, then the phone ran again. I decided to answer it and it was my brother again. Well supposedly while they were at the Oakcourt mall shopping someone decided to drop a dead body next to his girlfriends car. So when they were trying to leave they found out it was now a crime scene and instead of driving home they were being questioned by the Memphis police. I was shocked! They came home not to long after that and told me everything... in details.. They said blood was everywhere and the guy was shot three times but the guy was not dead. Everyone thought he was because the amount of blood he lost. Then as I glanced at the TV, I saw that it was the breaking news and it was all over the TV. The crime actually took place at a McDonalds on gitwell a few miles away from there. So after he got shot, he got dropped off to die. But why the mall? If they shot him wouldn't they put him somewhere else? I just can not believe that it happened right next to my brother's car. Anything can def. happen in Memphis!

Easter

The day started out pretty good. I got up and got ready for church, which my friend was getting her new born baby baptisms. I was so excited and I got to hold the little four week old baby. He was so cute. After that I went home and like every year we have to find our easter baskets that my mom hid the night before, Even though she hides them in the exact same spot each year but we give her credit. Then while waiting for the dinner to be finished me and my dad washed my car, which really needed it, and I surprisingly helped my dad cut up the tree in the backyard for fire wood. I even used an ax and everything! It was a sight to see and I even helped carry the big old tree. Well not long after that dinner was finished and ready to eat! It was delicious and this year was different because my brother and his girlfriend cooked for everyone. Also my little nephew was over and he is def. one of the cutest kids ever! Even though during the family photo he decided to take my hand and shove it in his month. It was hilarious and thank god he does not have teeth yet or it would not have been that funny. Well after the family photo it calmed down and everyone sat down to watch a movie while falling asleep in the first ten minutes because of all the food. So once again another Easter gone by and now I have to wait a few months for another holiday...

What's St. Patrick's day?

Today at work while we had nothing to do, we always come up with a conversation that passes the time. Today I asked about St Patrick's day and who we celebrated it! No one knew... not even customer's who came into shop. Seriously why do we celebrate a holiday that no one even knows why.. Well I decided to look it up and it was def. nothing I imagined.

The person who was to become St. Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland, was born in Wales about AD 385. His given name was Maewyn, and he almost didn't get the job of bishop of Ireland because he lacked the required scholarship. Far from being a saint, until he was 16, he considered himself a pagan. At that age, he was sold into slavery by a group of Irish marauders that raided his village. During his captivity, he became closer to God. He escaped from slavery after six years and went to Gaul where he studied in the monastery under St. Germain, bishop of Auxerre for a period of twelve years. During his training he became aware that his calling was to convert the to pagans Christianity. His wishes were to return to Ireland, to convert the native pagans to Christianity. But his superiors instead appointed St. Palladius. But two years later, Palladius transferred to Scotland. Patrick, having adopted that Christian name earlier, was then appointed as second bishop to Ireland.Patrick was quite successful at winning converts. And this fact upset the Celtic Druids. Patrick was arrested several times, but escaped each time. He traveled throughout Ireland, establishing monasteries across the country. He also set up schools and churches which would aid him in his conversion of the Irish country to Christianity. His mission in Ireland lasted for thirty years. After that time, Patrick retired to County Down. He died on March 17 in AD 461. That day has been commemorated as St. Patrick's Day ever since.

That def. surprised me... so why does everyone drink and get drunk on this holiday? ha ha

Good Friday..

Well today is a holiday and all my years of going to school I have always been off this day... except this year. I honestly thought we were going to be out today because most of the other schools are but not Memphis. It really bummed me out, plus I have to work today and that doesn't make today any better! I get off at nine and then I'm suppose to go color eggs with my family, which makes today a little bit better :) I have never missed a Good Friday not coloring eggs. Some people thinks it is boring but not me! I think it is a blast. Gives me the feeling of being a kid again and time with my family. Now a days everyone is so busy, especially my family. There is not one day in the weekday that everyone is in the household at one time. Mom works nights, my dad works during the day, and all the kids but one go to college while juggling a part or full time job. So every holiday ( the popular ones like thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter) the whole family gets today and I am not going to lie, I have one of the weirdest families in the world. Which everyone usually says that. So everyday we get together, it is hilarious! Every kind of personality under one roof and coloring eggs, there is not one time you don't laugh! So hopefully after going to school and work on this fine holiday I can come home and do my usual every year tradition, color eggs with my weird family!

weird dreams...

Well ever since my boyfriend, josh, left for the marines, I have had the weirdest dreams. They are war dreams and I have them over and over. Sometimes it's the same dream but then a new one will just pot up. The setting is always here in Bartlett and I'll have random friends, that I haven't really talked to a whole lot, be in there. Every know and then there will be different friends in there but the same dream. The dream I keep having is I am in a house, in a quiet but nice neighborhood with a few of my friends. We are just watching TV and I think playing games but I can't be for sure ( that part is kind of blurry) Anyways then all of a sudden the sky becomes dark and the air turns to cold. I walk outside and see air planes flying over head shooting at the enemy, which I assume is around the area. Then I get yanked in the house and shoved in the basement. Everyone is panicking and all I can think of is Josh. So without any thought, I rush out of the basement with all my friends yelling and then out the door. I'm running to my car while trying to dough the bullets. I get in the car and start driving but I have no idea where I am going but all I know is I have to get to Josh. While planes flying above me and fear going throughout my body. I see a explosion in front of me and I swerve to miss it but then run into a pile of something ( that is also blurry) under a bridge. I get out and start limping over to where I can see the sky and a light shines on top of me..... then I wake up. I've had that exact dream more times then I can count and it always ends the same way, never finishes... I wonder what that means?

Today while I was sitting in my living room watching tv. Then all of a sudden I got this random text. It was one of those forward messages that you're suppose to read and send to so many people. Well I usually just read it and delete but this one was different; I actaully agreed with it. It said "Isn't it ironic? We ignore who adore us. Adore who ignores us. Love who hurts us and hurt who love us!" I know to some of you this might sound stupid but when you think about it, that's so true. I can honestly say the guy I'm completely in love with has hurt me more than anyone. How can someone who says they love you more than anything go and hurt you. It doesn't make any sense! I know some of you are thinking if he hurt you so bad then why are you with him. Well I thought the same thing but after months not being together he proved to me how sorry he was and still haven't done anything since. So that's good. But back to the message.. I know so many people that likes someone who is completely not interested and still tries. Then doesn't even pay attention to the person who actually cares for them. Why is that? there are so many couples that cheat on one another and come back saying how sorry they are! It's so stupid! If you seriously love someone then just stick with that one person who makes you happy! It's retarded to ruin something that special. Ever heard of the 80- 20 rule? Say the person you love is your 80 and the person you supposedly cheat one with is your 20. You never pick a 20 over your 80.

River City Writers

Floyd Skloot, a excellent poet and a very interesting person. After listening to everyone in the class room talk about him, I couldn't believe he forgets a question after twenty seconds and got a virus of some kind that whips out your memory. It's amazing that he's come so far and is still a excellent writer and a successful one too. Even thought his writings aren't exactly the same anymore. He use to write fiction and poems but now it's non-fiction and poems. I'll have to say one thing he talked about I can relate to is how he would write a poem real quick just to get it published and not be completely finished with it. He never allowed himself enough time to finish it and published it to early. I loved how honest he was and how he had a pen and a pad everywhere. If he had five different jackets, then that meant he had five different pens and pads. They are everywhere in his house and even in his car; so he can write whenever and where ever. He writes about anything and he said sometimes he'll re-write something he already said. Skloot was also funny and I loved listening to him. It was like he had so much to talk about but always forgot what question he was answering. He seemed so down to earth and I can honestly say I was actually interested.

HIstory of health care

Health care started in Europe in 1687 and didn't come to the United States until 1850. It was discovered by the firm Franklin Health Assurance company of Massachusetts. It offered injuries from the railroad and steamboat accidents. By the first part of the 20th century, Hospitals and mental expenses policies were offered which lead to development of Blue Cross Organization, that is well-known today. Then by the beginning of 1929 and through the 1930's and on through the world war 2 insurance increased and new policies where developed. If it was not for World War 2, the United States would of had had Universal insurance like Germany and the United Kingdom. Wonder if our country would be better off if that did happen? Then as years roll by companies start offering medical coverage to employees and paid about fifty percent of it. Then some companies, like for instance GM, started offering to pay 100 percent, which is GREAT. Wonder why companies do not offer that today. Oh yeah they discovered the less they pay for health care, the more money they save and become greedy! Well by the 1960s Medicare was offered and helped out a lot of families out. Something they could finally afford and could count on. Health Care has changed a bunch from the time it was discovered. The price keeps increasing and more and more Americans live with out any coverage. Over 47 million, which is ridiculous!

Free Health Care or No?

While researching all the information about Health Insurance thinking it should be free, like some other countries have and it seems like it works good for them. Then I came across something that kinda change my mind and made sense. Maybe our country is not right for Universal Insurance, U.S. maybe just needs to lower the price....

Reasons why we should have Universal Insurance is because:

  1. The number of uninsured citizens has grown to over 40 million.
  2. Health care has become increasingly unaffordable for businesses and individuals.
  3. We can eliminate wasteful inefficiencies such as duplicate paper work, claim approval, insurance submission, etc.
  4. We can develop a centralized national database which makes diagnosis and treatment easier for doctors.
  5. Medical professionals can concentrate on healing the patient rather than on insurance procedures, malpractice liability, etc.
  6. Free medical services would encourage patients to practice preventive medicine and inquire about problems early when treatment will be light; currently, patients often avoid physicals and other preventive measures because of the costs.
Reasons for not having a Universal Insurance because:

  1. here isn't a single government agency or division that runs efficiently; do we really want an organization that developed the U.S. Tax Code handling something as complex as health care?
  2. "Free" health care isn't really free since we must pay for it with taxes; expenses for health care would have to be paid for with higher taxes or spending cuts in other areas such as defense, education, etc.
  3. Profit motives, competition, and individual ingenuity have always led to greater cost control and effectiveness.
  4. Government-controlled health care would lead to a decrease in patient flexibility.
  5. Patients aren't likely to curb their drug costs and doctor visits if health care is free; thus, total costs will be several times what they are now.
  6. Just because Americans are uninsured doesn't mean they can't receive health care; nonprofits and government-run hospitals provide services to those who don't have insurance, and it is illegal to refuse emergency medical service because of a lack of insurance.
  7. Government-mandated procedures will likely reduce doctor flexibility and lead to poor patient care.
  8. Healthy people who take care of themselves will have to pay for the burden of those who smoke, are obese, etc.
  9. A long, painful transition will have to take place involving lost insurance industry jobs, business closures, and new patient record creation.
  10. Loss of private practice options and possible reduced pay may dissuade many would-be doctors from pursuing the profession.
  11. Malpractice lawsuit costs, which are already sky-high, could further explode since universal care may expose the government to legal liability, and the possibility to sue someone with deep pockets usually invites more lawsuits.
  12. Like social security, any government benefit eventually is taken as a "right" by the public, meaning that it's politically near impossible to remove or curtail it later on when costs get out of control.

Memphis sucks! (the city)

I can honestly say I hate living here! I can not wait to get out of this city! I plan on moving far away, probably by the beach, and where it's save to live. If everything works out, I plan on moving with my boyfriend when he gets stationed, where ever that is. Memphis is like the worst place to live. There are killings every week here! Last week was horrible. The Lester murders, were horrifying and was hard to watch. Just because the guys brother wanted to cover up what he did, so he killed the little kids! Plus the guy just got out of jail for killing someone before. Why the heck was he out! Wouldn't he be in there for life? Who ever let him out is STUPID! There would be six people alive today if he was still in jail and the three kids who are still alive would still have there family. Then after that a girl about 13 years old gets shoot in a cross fire and it wasn't even meant for her. Thats ridiculous! The people around those neighborhoods are use to guns being fired, it's a daily thing for them. Also this mother accidentally shoot her 2 year old baby in the foot. How can that happen? Why the heck does she have a gun around the baby anyways... I would just like one day I could put on the news and nothing bad would happen! that would be wonderful!! But in Memphis that would never happen! He keeps going down hill and probably will never change! So I decided I'm probably just going to move :) seems like the only option. Plus when I start having kids I don't want them growing up around this or go to school with a history of shootings or violence.

Finally Snow!

So other than being sick on Spring break and thought nothing good would happen the rest of the week, Friday came and it started snowing. I was at work and didn't even know it was suppose to! Well about an hour went by and it stopped, so i thought it was over and I was a little bummed. I was hoping it would, so I could make a snowman; something I haven't done in a long time! Well a few minutes later, it started coming down hard! I was so excited! Even though I was at work, I didn't do anything but look out the window like a little kid watching for Santa clause at Christmas time. It snowed hard until I got off work and as i was walking outside to my car I realized my car was covered in about 3 inches of snow, not joking! I had no idea how I was going to get all of it off. So i I turned on my car and put on the defrost and walked back inside, as i realized I LOCKED my keys in my car! I freaked out! The first time I locked my keys in my car is the day it snows and the roads are bad... my luck.. Well then I saw my brother next door and maybe he could help me. Well he didn't have a spear but he did figure out that mt other door was unlocked. Sp as I felt stupid, I felt so re leaved. He also cleaned the snow off my car so it was safe to go home. The snow fell until late in the night and it was so pretty! I made my funny looking snowman and drank hot chocolate by the fire. It was a wonderful day and it saved my spring break. Something good happened before it ended and that's all I wanted! :)

spring break

Well last week was spring break and it pretty much sucked! while everyone was having so much fun out of town, I was at home sick the whole time! I was planning on going to Orlando to work for Varsity and UCA. I would help with the National competition and help sell the clothes. It was perfect! They paid for every expenses. The plane ticket, the hotel, food and i was going to get paid! I could not wait to go, but one day at my work this lady came in with a awful cold. About an hour later it hit me and I could not breathe out of my nose, head hurt, and had a bad cough... It sucked! Each day it got worst and the day I was suppose to leave for Orlando, I could not keep anything down. I had to cancel the trip and stay at home! It was the worst thing! Something you look forward to for so long and can't go because of something stupid. Make matters worst I went to the doctor and the stupid doctor thought it was the flu and would not believe me that I have this disorder called acute vomiting syndrome ( very rare but it exist , it's were if you start throwing up, you can not stop until you get an IV to pass by the stomach) So after the stupid doctor didn't help me, I had to go to the Hospital. So thats my wonderful spring break. It was probably the worst spring break yet :(

It's Monday Again!

Well today is Monday, a day that I honestly hate. It was just like every other Monday. I went to my classes today, tired like always, but instead of going home like I usually do and go straight back to bed, I decided to go to Spin City and pick up a series of "Friends." Which is my favorite show to watch still and since i had no work today, I thought it would be fun to do. So while taking a different route and drive down Highland I stop at this red light and just sat there listening to my music. While all of a sudden I look up and see two cars collide into one another. I saw the air bags burst open and it seemed like everything just froze. I couldn't believe my eyes, my heart started bounding rabidly and I just wondered if everyone was okay. I got out of my car with probably five other people did and ask if everyone was okay. Both drivers get out with shocking expressions on their face and both node. The lady was in tears and seemed like she probably hit her head but at that point a ambulance arrived on the scene. So it seemed like it was my time to leave. As I was pulling up at Spin City, I just sat their and thought how scary that was just watching that happen and wondered how it might feel if that actually happened. My heart was still bounding and it's just scary that one persons mistake or even not paying attention can cause so much damage. So after that the ride home I was extremely careful and the rest of the day was just like every other day but with no "Friends" :( Turns out Spin City was out and it pretty much bummed me out the rest of the day, other than seeing the wreck.

YAY" my birthday!

Well I need one more blog to finish my five for this week and I guess I could talk about my birthday that was the other day!
Well it started out not what I planned. I didn't feel good and had a huge headache; but after taking medicine it got better. My mom bought me breakfast, which was wonderful, and made me a happy birthday sign of hello kitty! Then one of my friends, who is about nine months pregnant and almost had the baby on my birthday! which would be the best present ever but instead the baby stop pushing and they sent her home, something i don't understand but oh well. Later that afternoon two of my older friends took me out to eat to On The Boarder, which i have never been. Also it turned out one of my friends was the waiter and gave me a birthday dessert free.. yay! Well the food was good and loved the conversations that needed catching up. Then afterwards they took me out to a movie "juno" which was really funny but at the end i cried ( did not expect that!) but I loved it and I had a wonderful time! I came home later that night and figured out i got a letter from josh. PERFECT TIMING! getting that letter made my birthday and he also made me a birthday card, that was actually very creative. But like every other day I look forward to, it went by fast and im just another year older, which is 20 for those who don't know. ( Got one more year til the big 21 haha) It turned out to be a pretty fun day but when josh returns he said he'll take me out, so my birthday is not over and I got something else to look forward too!!!! yay!

heathcare continue...

After reading about healthcare and figuring out that court is trying to drop retirees from medical insurance, I came across that the United States is the costliest health care system in the world! We’re more than double of most major industrialized nations! Patient outcomes here are among the worst and all the extra cost in medical care makes the United States look ridiculous compared to a bunch of other countries like Canada, France, and even United Kingdom. New born babies are three times more likely to die in the United States in their first month as a child in Japan. Now that’s insane! How can the United States be so powerful and so many immigrants want to come from their home to live here, if the country cannot even supply everyone with healthcare. It does even seem like anyone is trying to fix this problem; instead it is getting worst. This is a matter that needs to be improved or more people are going to die when it could have been prevented. You know the United States is 37th in the world and is behind countries like Costa Rica, which we are supposedly trying to help declare its independence. This is ridiculous and this problem needs to be improved!

Health Care

Well while I was researching for facts about healthcare, I came across this one website that had a lot of things I didn’t know about. Like for instance, it talked about over 46 million Americans who have no Healthcare in the United States and while the poorest are covered by Medicaid, by federal government’s social welfare, and also Medicare who covers retired workers; increasing numbers of people who work and earn too much money to be covered by Medicare and is left to their own. It use to be that the companies paid a hundred percent for healthcare as a part of wage and benefit package but now the workers are forced to pay a certain percentage that’s out of control. Not everyone can pay for the amount of healthcare along with every other bill he or she has to pay. The workers cost has increased, co-pays, fees, and deductibles are constantly going up. So healthcare is getting more impossible to pay for and it’s even harder on younger workers who are not covered by much. Also recently court rulings have overpowered union and companies to drop retired people from medical insurance making them rely on Medicare and sometimes get stuck with the bill. That is insane! This is one of the powerful countries in the world but the country won’t pay for Its own people’s health! Which I think that’s very important!!! Don’t you?

second part

Think about our president today. Are you satisfied? Is he right for the job for two terms in a row? Look back at all the presidents you know of? Are all of them right for the most important job in American? I can honestly say no. For a fact, I know people are voting for reasons that should not apply and should not matter. Our president in office as in today, I think is a mistake. He thinks more about the rich instead of the poor. College funds have been decreasing since he’s been in office and he’s definitely not the brightest crayon in a box. I think most of the people who voted for him didn’t have a good reason and didn’t just for the hell it. The only thing I hear about the President today is al negative and makes me think… Who the hell voted for him? I haven’t heard one good thing about him yet and probably never will.
What Coulson main point in his article is don’t vote for a candidate for a stupid reason. Give it some thought and research it well before making a final decision. For whoever wins is the leader of our country for four years and every vote counts. For people who haven’t made a good decision on who to vote for, it’s better just to stay home on Election Day; Instead of just voting for the fun of. It is not wrong not to vote and doesn’t mean those who don’t, don’t care. He or she might not support either of the candidates, which is not bad. It is one of our rights we should be grateful for, then not care anything about it. Remember voting is a right, not a privilege and should be taken very seriously. If this does not change will our next president be wrong for the job and makes our country go downhill?

Lets not get out the vote

Even though voting is a right, doesn’t mean it’s a privilege. There are requirements that need to be met in order to vote. While given that right, do people take advantage of it? In “Let’s Not Get out the Vote,” by Robert E. Coulson , which discusses how voting unintelligently is un-American and makes Americans look like it’s not important to them. Society today make it seem like it’s a requirement to vote and pressure it upon people who have not yet made up their mind.
In the beginning of the article Coulson discusses how in the future if he or she does not vote then they would have to serve jail time or stand in front of committee to be testify. At first when I read that, I was disgusted and could not disagree more. I don’t find it very American to force a citizen into engage in a act that clearly stated as a right. If someone feels pressured to vote for someone who does not fit the job could have a negative affect or outcome. “If voting is made a duty, it ceases to be a privilege.” For an example, I have been given the right to vote since I came the require age but I plan on not voting for the 2008 election. I have no idea who I would vote for and every time I watch the candidates’ debates, neither of them make me want vote for them. I don’t think any of them are the right people to run this country but someone has to be elected. If someone haven’t made up their mind on who to vote for then they are better off staying home, other than voting for someone for the wrong reason. Voting is not something anyone can go out and just do because they can. It requires a lot of thought and studying of each of the candidates; for everyone can make the right choice and be satisfied on who they voted for. Today people are easily persuaded in flashy things and who looks better, but that should not matter with voting for our leader. The President should be right for the job and will help our country be stronger, not weaker. * Also, no one should vote for the candidate who is a women or vote for an African-American because of their gender or skin color. More woman are going to vote for Clinton because she would be the first woman president and more African American will vote for Obama because of his skin color. Is that how people are going to vote these days? That’s what Coulson is saying people are voting unintelligently and just plain stupid. People just do not care and have forgotten the reason of voting.
Coulson wrote the essay in 1955, over fifty years ago. You think our society has changed by then and have gotten better; but instead it’s about the same or even worst. The same aspects he discussed apply the same today. America citizens are easily influenced by the media and what they see on TV. As you look at his point it’s stunning to see that when he wrote it and how nothing has improved. Will this matter ever get better or will it stay the same as the years roll by?

Another letter!! yay!

Well I finally got the letter I've been waiting for! The one that answered my questions about that girl i wrote about in later Janurary. It turns out it wasn't true! He told me he hung out with his mom and me the last few weeks he was here. He said he wouldn't do anything to mess up our relationship ever again! He also said he can't satnd that girl and when he gets back he will straighten everthing up with her and never talk to her again. Which makes me feel good! But it still makes me mad that the girl actually told me all of that. She made up a bunch of shit, to get me mad enough to break up with him. I'm sorry but girls can be really evil! I mean i love the girls that are my friends but thats very few! They love to get into things and pretty much get their way! I'm not going to lie but i also like getting my way but i won't go to that level to be mean to someone. ya know?

Well anyways the letter also said that when he got my letters he got in trouble for them. It turns out you can't smile in bootcamp or you have to do push-ups. Which is funny because he had lot to do! Also he's a squad leader and his team is the strongest and fastest, well that's what he says. Maybe he over expresses his self a little. Well to sum it up, he's doing good and actually loves it there. Even though he's getting his ass kicked, he is still enjoying it. But hey that's josh for those who know him, you know what i'm talking about!

University shooting!

Later tonight while ordering a drink at milano's, I looked at the tv and was shocked of what I saw. There was a shooting at Norhern Illinious University earlier today! It was a guy in a black trench coat, who was carrying a rifle and a pistol with him. He shoot eleven students and three were cristical, then turning the gun on himself. So far thats all they said and don't know if anyone other than the shooter who had died. They're not sure what the story behind this but it's uasually the same; getting picked on and he or she is tired of it. But to think about it, it has been mostly guys and not girls. Actually every shooting I've heard of ever, it's been with guys. Well anyways after watching that and the Memphis shooting earlier, it made me think is any school actually safe? Can any school actaully keep students from these events? These shootings happen randomly and no on ever knows about it. In memphis there has been to many and now there are happening in the universities. One that happened last semester, the one in memephis also last semester and the one that happened today. How do people get so mad at someone they want to end up killing them and ruin their life as well? It's just unbelievable! It's really scary just thinking about it!!

Another Shooting...

While clicking through the channels to find something to write about for my next blog, I come across a news story that happen earlier this week. It turns out there was another shooting at a Memphis city school. They said that a boy was getting picked on by an older student about joinging a gang. He refused, but the boy and his friends kept on. The boy was getting picked on decided enough was enough. The next day in gym class, the boy walks up to theother boy and shoots him twice. He then turns around and hands the gun to the teacher. After hearing this story and thinking about all the other shootings that have happened last week, I wondered how are they sneaking the guns inside the school? Not to long ago I heard that the Memphis city schools spend over six million on metal detectors and equipment. If they spent that much to have those, how are school shootings still happening? It seems like it's a waste of money if it doesn't even make any progress... What else do they have to do? Its like everything they think of, the shootings are still happening. Will Memphis City schools ever get better or keep getting worst?

Valentines Day

Today was valentines day. I got many gifts and aknowledgements but they werent from the one that i care about the most, who happens to be 12 hours away. Instead, i got cards, a bear, candy, and help with my schoolwork. it wasnt that bad of a day but it wasnt up to par for my standards. i also had to work today, oh my god!. It was the worst day ive had at work yet, everyone was rude and edgy. All i heard the whole day was complaints about price and how it was priced to high. They wanted me to change it for them when they knew i couldnt, i just wanted to scream. to top everything off i was sick, and have been for the past week. I havent been able to eat much without it making me feel ill, but i figured out randomly that lemons make my stomache settle down just enough for me to feel better. i cant even eat chocolate because im allergic to caffeine and most of V day is all about chocolate. Anyways, to sum it up today wasnt the best of days, but my B day is in a week and i expect a better day (presents!).

exciting night at work!

Well today was a very interesting day at work! Something happened that I never would think would happen in front of my store. It all started while closing. We were all tired and wanting to go home. Before locking the doors two of the other girls go outside to warm up there cars, for it was in the twenties tonight. So they come inside for us to do the final procedures and lock the doors for the night. We were in the store less then five minutes, before we locked the doors and headed outside. We all said bye and headed to each others cars until one of the other employees stopped in her tracks and began to panic. We figured she locked her keys in the car but it turns out her car was stolen! We were shocked! It happened right infront of our work! We called the cops but the other girl being completely shocked told the operator the her friend was stolen and forgot to add the word car.... Which that part was kinda funny. So while waiting for the po-po's, which took over twenty mintues, we decided to call again. Believe it or not but the operator thought my friend said she was high jacked, which is someone pointing a gun at you while taking your car. We figured a hi jacking would be more demanding of the po-po's presence, but obviously not. We mentioned to them that if it had been a hi-jacking, wouldnt it have been more important than just a regular theft. Finally they showed up five minutes later and found the car later that night but nothing was reported missing.

Stormy Tuesday...

Well i have one more blog to write and I can't figure out what to write, so i decided to write about that horrible storm we had tuesday.

Well it started out on my way to work, which I wanted to call in so bad!! I knew it was going to be bad because Memphis University closed and they never do. So when I finally got to work, which i work at a clothing place called Holliday's, the sky didn't look that bad. It was raining alittle bit but that was about it. Well It was long til it was comletely dark out and the wind was picking up. At this time I was ringing someone up and I just turned around just to look outside. As i did I saw something weird in the background, I looked closer and it was a tornado hitting the ground! I stated freakin out! I hate storms and i'm terrified of them! The lady i was checkin out was getting mad i was talking forever and i told her to look outside. She got quiet and just froze. At that point everyone cleared out of the store, so it was just me and another employee. I was so scared. We had the radio and we were in the office in the back just sitting there by ourselves. The lights kept flickering and going off, it was like a movie seriously. Then I over heard the hickory area got hit bad and realized my dada was working over there. I started freakin out and started calling everywhere but no one knew if he was okay. Well finally the storm calmed down and the district managers called and tole me to close early to go home because there was another part suppose to hit soon. So I closed the store and got the heck out of there. As i arrived home, I found out my dad was also home. To find out every warehouse around his got hit and everything was fine. I was so realived and couln't believe that bartlett actually got bad weather! It never happens, usually the wather guys always freak out for no reason but this time they were right.

memphis news...

Early this afternoon I started looking through the channels and find out more about that boy who killed his family, instead I came across a story that their was a shooting at another school. Don't know what school because didn't wait to hear about the whole thing. Is it that bad? I'm use to hearing about that kind of stuff in memphis. That's why i don't watch the news, it is the same thing all the time. Almost every week something happens at a different school and some times it's the same school. If you go watch the news in Florida, the news there is usually the weather. Why can't it be like that here but no instead it's someone got murdered, weapon found in elementary's kid backpack, or more houses broken into and usually alot of those people do not get caught. It happens so much in Memphis everyone use to it. Someone goes up to another person and tells them there was a shooting at a school today and that person usually goes "again." I'm so sick of it. I grew up in this city my whole life and been in the same house. I love my family and all of my friends but when i can i'm getting out of this city and so i can get away from all of it. When i have kids i want them to grow up somewhere safe and not be scared what school they go to.

Cant believe it!

Well the other day I was clicking through channels to figure out something to watch and of course there was nothing on, like always. So i decided to wath the news, which is very rare because all I ever hear is someone got murdered or houses getting broken in too. Then within a few minutes of watching the news, this story came on that I just couldn't believe it! This little boy got into a huge fight with his day and later that night he killed his whole family in their sleep. I was shocked because this kid was hardly in high school ( not sure his actual age) He waited a whole twenty four hours till he called the police and as they got there he told them he found them when he came home. Then later he finally confessed it was him who did it. I don't understand how anyone, espcially that young, can do something like that. Get that mad over on fight and decide to kill the people who love you. I mean I probably don't know the whole story because it just happened and not even the news cast knew the whole story but still that kid just ruin his whole life, for what? Over a fight him and his dad were going through. And just think this kind of thing has happen before probably someone where else. I just can't believe it.

my first letter...

Okay... i got good news!! I got my first letter from my boyfriend Josh!! yay! As i opened the mail box and saw the envelope addressed to me, my eyes just watered up. I was so excited! Not wasting any time i opened up to see this little paper, which was kinda disapointing but I was still happy. As i read the letter, i realized he hasn't got any of my letters. It took about a week to get his letter, meaning all my letters haven't made it to him yet; so none of my questions had been answered. Instead he talked about how much he missed me (yay) and how hard it has been, even though it has only been a week. He explained that he hardly gets any sleep at night and eating is extremely different. He sits there while the drill instructors yell in everyone ears " Back straight, feet together, look forward, left hand on left knee!" But he said the food isn't half bad. He takes cold showers and has drastic exercises that seem insane! I know they are training and getting discipline at the same time but it seems a little over the edge. They do so much and all they do is get yelled at 90% at a time! But i know it's to get prepared for whatever is thrown their way, like for instance the war, so im not going to complain. I just don't want him to get hurt but he's strong, I know he'll do good!

Well i guess I will up date everyone with the next letters he sends me and hopefully he answers all my questions. :)

Superbowl...

Well superbowl sunday was a big day for me. Other then being the american holiday, it was also my dads birthday! So there was plenty to do. First of all my family and I ate my dad's birthday lunch and watched him open gifts. Well knowing me, I fell asleep during it because i ate so much and i never can stay awake after i get completely full! It's impossible and it doesn't matter what i eat, my body just shuts done. Well it wasn't long til I woke up since my brother and his girlfriend walked in. They are seriously the loudest people in the world! Even when they talk, it's like yelling for everyone and when they laugh... it's even worst. But hey i def. know there is someone is out there for everyone! haha. Well after getting a huge headache, I left to go to my friends house for the game. To be honest i'm not a fan for either teams but i was rooting for the Giants! I thought it would be funny if the manning brother won after his well known brother and it would also be funny if the patriots didn't have the perfect season. Also they were kinda cocky to be honest. Well I was very disappointed because the game was extremely boring until the last like five minutes. Right when the patriots scored and it seemed like all was last for the Giants. Everyone at the house was upset for they thought it was over. But I just knew there was still more to come, even with the three minutes or two. My friend Josh even bet me an enormous amount of money!! ( One hundred million dollars!! No Joke!) As we anxiously watched the last two minutes of the game, the Giants slowly but surely made their way to the end zone. With only 40 seconds left on the clock the Giants made their winning touch down and the patriots were unable to catch up. It was wonderful! I turned to my friend and yelled "IM RICH" but knowing he doesn't have nearly that much money he decided to owe me anything other than money... so im still thinking about that at the moment because that's very rare to get that offer and im going to use it wisely :)

Bush...

Well I’m finally on my last blog and after reading pretty much all of them, which were mostly about the 2008 election, I probably need to catch up on some things. Well the last one I’m going to write about is the one writing about Bush. It’s about how this person supports him and how much he think he is "a God led and inspired man. After he's gone from office, he'll be remembered as a "cool customer." I honestly don't like him because it seems like he doesn't know what he's doing and I don't think he should of been elected a second term. He's not a good president, which is my opinion, and I think this country is going downhill. I don't agree with going to war and the U.S. troops should come back. I know I don't need to say anything, which some people have told me because I don't vote even though I am old enough. I just never like anyone who runs in the elections but I can still say what I think. Everyone has the right of their own opinion! But in the blog I will agree with everything is not Bush's fault because congress does blame him for a lot. Even though Bush has really low ratings, but so does congress; so they don't have a lot to say. Even though Bush is a bad president, my opinion, does not mean everything is his fault. He has done some things right, the eight years he has been in office, don't know what they are but they're there...

whitehaven

Well once again I looked through the blogs and came across one called Bring Back Whitehaven. At first it didn’t look that interesting, so I moved on to the next. But later on I came back to it and after reading it more than I did, and found some things I disagree with. For instance, trying to get the strip clubs to leave the location. I'm not saying I like the strip clubs and they look bad for the community but you have to admit they make some money! Oh well a girl strips for money, if it pays rent and allows them to eat then its fine. It's a job! At least they’re not selling themselves for sex! That is something I def. disagree with; it's lowing someone standers and makes them look like that's the only job they can do. I believe everyone is capable to do anything and that means a prostitute can stop and get an actual job. This brings up another thing I disagree with in this blog. If a prostitute wants to strip, let her. It's better than selling her. Don't judge people for what happens in the past, people want to change and they can. Anyways making the city come back and look decent is good idea. It's something they should do for parts of Memphis as well.

Trouble in 08'...

I was going through the blogs once again and somehow this one caught my eye. It's about someone discussing the matter of the 2008 election and how he or she wants a democrat to win instead rebublican. He or she wants a republican, who isn't that great or well-known because a democrat can beat them. They discuss that if Hillary is picked for the Democrat side then the republican will def. win because no one likes her, which I don't get. Truthfully I don't watch a lot of television and so I don't know anything about the 2008 election. So what’s so bad about Hillary? I'm not defender or anything, I just honestly no nothing about the issue. All I know is ALOT of people disagree with her. But anyways back to the subject... If Obama gets chosen for the democrat then they will lose for the experience that he lacks. Which I agree! So he or she goes on saying if democrats lose, they are to blame, for the republicans are making some smart decisions and are picking the best person to win. Which is how you do it, there is no other way. Why would the democrats not do the same? It's a common strategy!!

which one to pick...

Well i was looking through the memphis blogs to figure out one to write about and one just caught my eye. Maybe because of the picture of hillary bitting a baby but hey it got me reading.
Well the blog is about someone trying to make a decision who to vote for in the 2008 election. They don't want to bote for Hillary because he or she is tired of the whole Bush and Clinton switch off. They decided they want a change but also he or she wants a reason to vote for Obama, instead of just voting for him because he or she disagrees with the Clintons. They want more details so they can surport Obama and vote for him for the right reasons. They discuse how unity should't be a issue and gives an example by saying" Everybody shows up to the kegger happy, but if there's only a six-pack." Which i def. agree with! Even though someone might not like one of the candates, if they are smart and have good reasons to run this country then maybe they are the right person for the job. It's whatever is best for the country and who will run it the best!

I Don't Get it...

Well something has been on my mind lately so maybe some people can give me some advice....

Well to start out this girl (not mentioning any names) has recently been bothering me. About three days ago this girl talked to my friend over the phone about something and well my boyfriend came up in the subject somehow. Well just to let you know my boyfriend is in boot camp till April 19: (... He left about a week and a half ago. Well this girl started saying how she hung out with him two nights before he left and said that when he comes back they were going to get together. But one of the nights she said he "hung out" with her I actually did... and then the other night he was spending time with his mom, so that really irritated me. Then later that night she messages me on MySpace (which is the devil) asking me questions and trying to have a conversation with me. I could have let it go but knowing me I have to know why she's saying all those things. Well sooner or later the conversation heated up and of course at this point she's just going off on me. She said that my boyfriend has been cheating on me, tells her everything instead of me, calling me stupid for still being with him cause of what he did, that they are going to end up together and he's def. going to pick her over me... All of that really got me frustrated and so mad! Also everything I said to her trying to defend myself and how that can't be true she, of course, had to say something that made me even more frustrated!... okay... my boyfriend and I both have had our flaw’s in the past, him more than me but we got over that part and decided to be together. Well that girl saying all of that kind of got me thinking and honestly a little freaked out. But josh was with me every day before he left, said the sweetest things, writes me from boot camp, and lately talked about the future. We have been together for over 3 1/2 years and with all the mistakes he has made he said he will never do any of it again. He freaks out if he does one thing wrong and gets scared that I’m going to leave him. I love this kid to death and he loves me more than anything, but since he's so far away I can't ask him in person only through letter which makes this situation difficult. So is that girl just trying to freak me out and just made all of that up for me to break up with him?? Or could it be possible he could have done any of that or said any of that?(I did write him but it'll be a couple a days till I get the results and I really need it off my mind)

The beginnning of something

Well let me just start out telling you the beginning before i get to the problem. Well i have been with this guy for over three in half years. We met my freshmen year in the middle of December, we were just getting out for Christmas break. After the bell rang i decided to stay at the school to skateboard with my friends. (Back then i was a so called punk and kinda skater) I did not feel like going home because currently i was grounded at the time and so have for most of my life. :) well the guys where trying to teach me and i was kinda scared to get on the board. Then suddenly this guy name josh comes up and starts showing off his tricks. I saw him around school and i thought he was a jerk at first and him showing off his skills didn't help me thinking that way. He suddenly came up to me and introduced himself and i did the same. He asked me if i skated and i said I'm just learning, so he decided to help me. I finally got on the board after a few minutes but i had to hold on to him because otherwise i would of fallen. He was trying to teach me an ali ( not sure how to spell it) but you who skated before probably know what I'm talking about. Well the funny thing is i did so many other tricks like an ali-north and a kick flip, it was really funny because i had no idea what i was doing. Josh was actually impressed but he still wanted me to get the ali. After a while i finally got it, was not the prettiest thing in the world but i did it! i was very exciting! I started talking to josh and telling him thank you, that i really appreciate it. But while i was talking to him i realized he wasn't that bad of guy, in fact he was actually cute ( that's why i don't like judging people because they could be the total opposite then you think) Well after that day Josh and I became really good friends and i had the biggest crush on him, which was really funny. We hung out at school and sometimes out of school because to figure out he lived around the corner from me. After the months went by i started liking him more and more. I was to scared to tell him, thinking he would not feel the same but my cheering friends kept pushing me to tell him because i actually talked about him a lot. Well finally one day i got up the guts to tell him. He picked me up from tumbling class one night and i told him i had something to tell him. We were driving home and talking and it got the point to tell him. My nerves were going and i had butterflies in my stomach. So after a while of delaying it, it finally came out. He looked at me and laughed. It wasn't the answer i wanted but least it wasn't like are you serious look. I asked what was wrong and he just kept laughing. At this point i was kinda irritated. He finally said why did you not tell me and i just shrugged my shoulders. Well it turns out he's liked me since the first day he met me, about eight months ago. I was so relived. So about three weeks later he showed up at my practice with a dozen roses and asked me out. It was so cute and so ever since September 23, 2004 we haven't stopped talking to one another.

Well I'll continue the story another time... because it gives me something else to write about :)

Something about me

Well before i start talking about stuff that's going on in my life, yo9u might need to know a little more about me and who i really am other then my manifesto. Well first off i was more here in Memphis and I've lived in the same house for almost twenty years. (can not wait to move just like every other college student) I've also never had my own room which is my goal right now because my brother just turned twenty eight and i think it is time for him to get out on his own. :) I love to draw. I have been drawing since i could first write. I have been in art clubs, art shows, and art classes. I'm not really really good but I'm still working on it. I've always wanted to draw something and someone like it so much, they would buy it from me. I've never won first place in anything and would love to, but i have been close with second place. I think it's really exciting getting a ribbon. :) I pretty much draw everyday. It makes me calm down when I'm upset and usually when I'm sad i also draw but it's not my best work. Well other then drawing, I also love to cheer. Cheering has been a big part of my life for about seven years. My mom never wanted me to because we couldn't afford it but that did not stop me. I have always wanted to see what it was like so i tried out my sixth grade year! My mom wasn't that happy but she did support me. Well just to let you know cheering is not cheap as you probably heard but I worked my butt off to pay for everything like coaching fee's, uniforms, cheering clothes, trip to Orlando, camp, competitions, and tumbling lessons. It was a lot of work but I loved the sport and I would do anything to keep doing it. It definitely keeps you in shape and it takes you so many places. For instance, my first trip to Disney World was my first year cheering ( I think that's why my mom actually let me stay in the sport so she would so every year) I have has the greatest memories from the years i cheered and have made the most best of friends that I still have today. I'm currently not cheering right now because i could get use to the so-called college life but i plan on cheering for the University of Memphis next semester.

Health Care

The United States of America is known being the most powerful country but not every country is perfect, America still has some Fla's. For instance there health care. The United States does not have the best health care, there are so many problems with this, its ridiculous. Some hospital's in the country wont help someone unless they have insurance. Even if they are injured severely or extremely sick, if they do not have it then they are not treated. It's not fair to alot of people that can not aford it. Insurance is expensive and not everyone in the United States has a good job. Also if someone does have insurance it does not mean they are covered for everything. Like for instance my insurance only covers certain hospitals which is stupid. That means if i really need to go to the hopital to get treated i have to go to the ones they approve, even if that means driving a good distance. Some insurance do not even cover some medication, they might cover a little bit not enough for the person to afford it. In other parts of the world , some countries pay for there people's health care. How can the most powerful country can't do that for it's people? It doesn't make sense and some one should do something about it. This country cares about it's people and to help with health care would be the perfect way!

Is this for real?

A few days ago i was working and I was completely bored! No one was coming in and had been for the past hour or two. I just wanted the time to go by fast and I could go home. Well me and my co-worker ( who i am going to leave her name out) started talking about random subjects like what our favorite foods were, what we rather be doing, and so on. Then father in the conversation we started talking about the war and how we felt about it. We both were against it strongly and thought the troops should come home. It was a pretty interesting subject and we talked a little bit more about it, which made the time go by rather quickly. Well suddenly we started talking about Sept. 11, the whole cause of everything. What she said next shocked me and i couldn't believe what i heard. She told me she didn't believe Sept. 11 didn't even happen... I paused and just looked at her, with a "are you serious" expression on my face. I asked her how she could think that and she started out talking about she thinks the government planned this whole thing. She said there were no planes that crashed in the twin towers, instead there were bombs that the government put in the buildings. Man, when she started saying all of that i was like how can anyone think this. I started asking all these questions like if there were no planes where did all those people go?, why would the U.S. government plan something like this?, how did the TV show planes going through the buildings at the time it happened? She said the gov. did all this just to go to war because war brings money and that's the way supposedly the United States was going to get out of debt. She also said that's the reason Bush was elected again because the gov. knew he would approve U.S. going to war. That's why there was a re-count in the election in 2004 and Bush came out being the President for the second time. She also said she didn't believe that there was a terrorist threat and the gov. just wanted us to believe that because we would live in fear. So we would go out and spend all this money to protect us and to think the war has a good purpose. Oh my god... i couldn't believe this. I told her last year in gov. class we watched a movie about the 911 event and in it they showed evidence of who was on the planes, interview of people who were family of some of the people that were on the plane. They shared phone calls of there love one last goodbye and telling them that there were someone talking over the plane and they were going to try and do something. If there were no planes, which there was three of them, what happen to all those people? She didn't have an answer for that one but she said that scientist who were going through the crash sight said there were no evidence of any planes at all; that the planes couldn't just evaporate. That's why she thinks there is no planes and instead there were bombs that brought it down. She thought it was ironic that the towers came down the same why and that they came straight down and didn't go everywhere. I was about to go crazy at this point because everything i said or tried to explain, she had an answer and through out some bullshit behind it. How could she think that's what actually happen? Why would the gov go through all that trouble? United States has one or has the best and powerful gov. Why would they do this to there people that they do so much to protect? They wouldn't do all of that for money! If any of that stuff is true, which its not, then it goes against everything we believe in and stand for. They wouldn't send over a bunch of our best marines and U.S. forces to go across seas and fight for something that supposedly didn't happen. Also go over there and destroy towns and kill people in Iraq for something they didn't do. It just sounds crazy!! Plus why would the gov kill so many people on Sept. 11? Its pretty much the stupidest thing i ever heard!! And to believe that people out there actually think that the U.S. gov. was actually behind this? It really pisses me off!

This is Simply ME! (My Manifesto)

What does Manifesto mean? I was asking this question when we first received this assignment. After doing some research i discovered that the term Manifesto means it is a document which sets forth the principles and goals of an organization. It is basically designed to be widely distributed to the public and it serves as an official declaration. One famous Manifesto I came across was The Communist Manifesto. To summarize it is bascially a reflection of certain goals of Communism. It also explains the theory behind this particular movement. It argues that the development is inevitable. The intentions were to help this movement and to also help the parties and associations that are pushing history forward to its natural state.

Another Manifesto i came across was a very well known document....The Declaration of Independence. This Manifesto is the glue that keeps our country together. Its a guideline to how we should organize and run the country as smoothly as possible. As years pass this declaration still continues to keep our nation strong!

After learning about Manifesto I finally realized what my very own would be like. The title of my Manifesto would be ...This is Simply ME! Its about my life and what i deeply believe in. Its simple enough for an everyday average person to read and get a complete and full understanding of who i truly am and "to not judge a book by its cover."

To start off I was born on February 21, 1988 in Memphis, Tn. I am the fourth of five children. I have three older brothers who all attend The University of Memphis and a younger sister who still attends Bartlett High School. I am a freshman at Memphis, I am currently studying the different aspects of the world of Art! I have been interested in art since I was little, drawing is my favorite past time, when im not working or at school im drawing. My options are very open as to what my career choice will be, but whatever it is I will be successful and be able to support myself and not have to rely on anyone. Im a very hardworker anything you throw my way i will achieve. Failure is not in my vocabulary. One of my pet peeves is being lied to. I believe thats the worst thing to do to a person. Its disrespectful and it scarring to any relationship. I do have a soft side, I always put others before myself. I am the type of person anyone can come to if they have a problem. I have had to handle almost every situation throughout my life and can relate to any problem that someone brings to me.

Luthern is my religious belief, it is a more laid back version of catholicism. I attend the church Emmanuel Luthern with my family but also when i visit my Grandparents i attend a Catholic church in Knoxville, Tn. I also believe very strongly in true love. I believe everyone has a certain somebody that their meant to be with . I believe someone might have to go through multiple people they love to truly find that one special person even if it means a broken heart every now and then. Its better to love then to have never loved before. I believe love is God's greatest gift we could recieve.

I am thankful for so many things in my life. For instance, my family and everything they have given me, like a roof over my head, food on the table, clothes on my back, and the values they have taught me. Im also thankful for my friends who are always there for me through thick and through thin. Without them I wouldn't be the person I am today. I might not show how much i appreciate them all the time, but honestly I am grateful for everything I have today.

I believe everyone has there own choice and need to make there own decision, no one should rely on someone else's opinion. I also believe no one should judge someone else by their appearance because not everyone knows what that person has been through. God didn't make perfect people because if we were all perfect, we wouldn't be able to grow and learn from our mistakes and become better people.
